Beaulieu is in the heart of the New Forest National Park, not far from Southampton, Bournemouth, Winchester, Salisbury and Portsmouth. Here are a few pieces of handy travel advice to help you get here, whether that be by car, bike, bus or ferry!

By car

Beaulieu's postcode for your satnav is SO42 7YA or take Junction 2 of the M27 and follow the brown and white tourist signs to Beaulieu.

Need directions from your current location?

There is a public car park close to the centre of the village or if full you can park your car for free in car parks at the National Motor Museum which can hold up to 1,000 cars. There is also a separate car park for disabled visitors, near to National Motor Museum Visitor Reception.

Visitors driving motorhomes or towing caravans can park their vehicles in the National Motor Museum coach park. There are no height restrictions entering or leaving the site.

The Motor Museum is a pleasant 1km walk to the village centre.

Be animal aware! The New Forest National Park is home to some amazing animals and we share the roads with horses, donkeys and more. Please read the National Park Authority's advice for New Forest Drivers and drive carefully on your way to Beaulieu.

By bicycle

  Bus

New Forest Tour (29 May - 12 September)

The New Forest Tour's Green Route links Beaulieu with Hythe Ferry (for Southampton), Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst (rail station) and Lymington. Tickets are valid all day on all routes and you can hop on and off wherever you like. For timetables and ticket information click here.

More bus (Tues, Thurs)

More bus have a limited service between Hythe and Lymington which only runs on Tuesday and Thursday. It drops visitors either at the Museum entrance or in Beaulieu village depending upon the route.  Train

The London to Weymouth train passes regularly through Brockenhurst, which is the closest main line station to Beaulieu. There is a taxi rank at the station and the cost of a journey to Beaulieu by taxi is approx £20. Alternatively, why not hire a bike and cycle the seven miles through the New Forest to Beaulieu?  Ferry

Take the Hythe Ferry across Southampton Water to Hythe, then the 5 mile bus ride to Beaulieu. Alternatively take the Isle of Wight ferry to Lymington and take a bus to Beaulieu.
